Forever Pipe™ duo bars

VEEM’s duo bar range utilize patented duo-metal casting technology to create components with enhanced durability and performance. Combining a wear-resistant inner layer and a tough outer layer (or reversed), duo bars are ideal for applications requiring superior abrasion resistance, impact protection, or corrosion resistance. This innovative solution reduces through-life costs by up to 92%, making it a game-changer for industries like mining, refineries, and chemical processing.

Centrifugally Cast bars

VEEM’s centrifugally cast bars offer exceptional quality and versatility for a wide range of applications. With precise grain structures, superior mechanical properties, and the ability to customize sizes and alloys, these bars outperform traditional sand cast alternatives. They are used in critical applications such as high-pressure systems, aggressive media transfer, and demanding industrial processes where corrosion and heat resistance are paramount.

Sleeve Shields

Designed for retrofitting and repair, VEEM’s sleeve shields are centrifugally cast inner sleeves that provide added strength and durability to existing pipelines. These solutions are perfect for high-pressure applications and environments requiring extended service life and minimal downtime. Sleeve shields are tailored to fit seamlessly into existing systems while offering exceptional wear and corrosion resistance.

What is Centrifugal Casting

Centrifugal casting is a metal casting process where molten metal is poured into a rotating mould and distributed by centrifugal force. This force pushes the metal outward against the mould wall, producing hollow cylindrical components with a dense, uniform structure and minimal internal defects. Because the metal solidifies under pressure, centrifugal casting typically results in superior mechanical properties compared to static casting methods. The process is commonly used for pipes, sleeves, and wear components where strength, integrity, and consistency are critical.

Why is centrifugal casting used for wear pipes?

Centrifugal casting is particularly well suited to wear pipes because it produces components with low porosity, consistent wall thickness, and excellent metallurgical quality. During the centrifugal casting process, impurities and lighter inclusions are forced toward the inner diameter, leaving a cleaner, denser working surface. This results in improved abrasion resistance and longer service life, making centrifugally cast wear pipes ideal for harsh industrial environments.

What centrifugal casting capabilities does VEEM offer?

VEEM uses centrifugal casting because it produces wear pipes with exceptionally low porosity and consistent wall thickness, which are critical for abrasive and high-impact environments. During centrifugal casting, impurities migrate away from the wear surface, allowing VEEM to create a high-integrity outer layer designed to withstand extreme wear conditions. This makes centrifugally cast Forever Pipe® ideal for mining, mineral processing and heavy industrial applications.

What materials are used in VEEM’s centrifugally cast products?

VEEM’s centrifugal casting capability supports a wide range of ferrous alloys, enabling the production of high-performance wear layers tailored to specific applications. Forever Pipe® systems can incorporate hard, wear-resistant outer layers combined with structural backing materials, using centrifugal casting to ensure metallurgical bonding and consistent performance throughout the pipe length.

Can VEEM produce custom centrifugally cast wear pipes?

Yes. VEEM designs and manufactures custom Forever Pipe® solutions using centrifugal casting to suit specific operating conditions, including diameter, wall thickness, alloy selection and wear layer configuration. VEEM’s in-house engineering and casting expertise allows Forever Pipe® systems to be optimised for each customer’s application and performance requirements.
