Foundry and Casting

VEEM operates Australia’s largest non-ferrous foundry with 12 furnaces, up to 14.3 tonnes casting capacity, and over 55 years of metallurgical expertise. We produce components for marine, defence, aerospace, mining and industrial clients using centrifugal casting, sand casting, and a full suite of pattern-making methods. With in-house metallurgists and expertise across more than 250 ferrous and non-ferrous alloys – including custom and bespoke blends – we deliver precision castings to the highest international standards.

Centrifugal Casting

VEEM offers advanced centrifugal casting services, including the production of custom-made, bimetal wear pipes. Their capabilities include manufacturing hollow bars in over 250 alloys, ranging from 75mm to 1200mm in diameter and up to 2.7 meters in length. These hollow bars can be tailored with specified inner and outer diameters to meet diverse industrial requirements.

Sand Casting

VEEM’s foundry handles the full sand casting process in-house — from pattern making and 3D-printed tooling through to patternless moulding direct from digital designs. Sand casting is ideal for complex geometries, large components, and short-run or bespoke projects where flexibility matters. With capacity up to 14.3 tonnes and access to over 250 alloys, we produce components for marine, defence, aerospace and industrial clients to the tightest specifications.

Alloy Range

VEEM’s in-house metallurgists work across more than 250 ferrous and non-ferrous alloys — from standard bronzes, gunmetals and aluminium alloys through to nickel alloys, cobalt alloys, duplex stainless steels, and fully custom blends developed to your specification. Whether you need a specific grade for corrosion resistance, abrasion performance or high-temperature applications, our team can source, develop and cast it. We’ve produced components from lead bronze for CERN’s Large Hadron Collider through to nickel aluminium bronze propellers for the world’s leading superyacht builders – the alloy range goes wherever the application demands.

Recycling

VEEM is committed to environmental sustainability through comprehensive metal recycling practices. Our CNC machining processes generate metal swarf, which we efficiently recycle by compressing it into briquettes. This method removes cutting fluids, enhancing furnace efficiency and reducing hydrocarbon emissions during remelting. Additionally, all metals used in testing undergo systematic recycling, ensuring minimal waste and conservation of resources. These initiatives align with our ISO 14001 Environmental Management System accreditation, reflecting our dedication to responsible manufacturing and ecological stewardship. Read More at veem.com.au
